Jason Williams and his family were guests in our program in 2009. Hear his story on how Family Promise of Gallatin Valley changed his life and where he is now!
“I am currently an illustrator and graphic designer. I met my beautiful wife Stephanie on a playground when I was 15. We have been best friends ever since. We have been together since I was 19, and now have a 19 year old son Nathan, as well as an 11 year son, Lucas. Eight years ago after watching our childhood home get overcrowded; we headed to Bozeman, and have had the best time of our lives. Through ups and downs, we have enjoyed and grown immensely with the help of the local community.
Through one of the down times, November 2009, we found ourselves homeless. Through a contact we found Gloria and Family Promise. This was one of those moments that you can tell people where your life started to change. Through the help of the staff and volunteers at Family Promise we got the help up we needed and made an amazing amount of lifelong friends as well. After finishing the program, I was asked to serve on the board of directors of the organization. I leaped at the chance, it was a way I could start to repay the amazing generosity of the Family Promise organization, and give what I think is a very valuable insight the workings of the program. I honestly cannot think of my life without being part of Family Promise.” -Jason
